Snark Health – Hospital Operations Dashboard

Overview

Snark Health required a digital system to support hospital operations, centralise operational data, and provide management teams with clear visibility into key hospital performance indicators.

I worked as a Software Developer responsible for developing and maintaining the hospital operations dashboard and supporting backend services.

The Challenge

Hospital operational information can be spread across different areas of an organisation, making it difficult for management teams to quickly access important information and monitor performance.

The project focused on creating a centralised dashboard that could bring hospital data together and provide useful operational and analytical insights.

Solution

I developed a full hospital operations dashboard using Next.js, TypeScript, and TailwindCSS.

The platform provided a centralised interface for hospital data and analytics while connecting to a PostgreSQL database through Prisma ORM.

I also developed RESTful APIs using Next.js API routes to support communication between the application's frontend, backend, and hospital modules.

Key Features

Hospital Operations Dashboard

Built a centralised dashboard that allowed hospital management teams to monitor operational information from a single interface.

Real-Time KPI Analytics

Engineered KPI dashboards for monitoring important hospital indicators, including:

• Bed availability
• Patient activity
• Doctor performance

These analytics helped clinical management teams monitor operational performance and identify important trends.

RESTful APIs

Implemented RESTful CRUD APIs using Next.js API routes and Prisma ORM, with PostgreSQL providing the relational database layer.

System Integration

Integrated third-party APIs and internal system services to facilitate data exchange between different hospital modules.

Reusable UI Components

Designed and maintained reusable UI components to improve application scalability and maintain consistent design standards throughout the platform.

Cloud Deployment

Deployed and maintained the application on AWS EC2 infrastructure, focusing on system stability and availability.

The completed hospital dashboard was successfully deployed and actively used to monitor hospital operations, streamline workflows, and provide real-time analytics for clinical management teams.
